Finding trustworthy Islamic answers
A simple guide to checking context, expertise, and the limits of an answer.
Check the source and its expertise
Look for identifiable authors, relevant training, citations, and a clear distinction between primary texts and commentary.
A confident tone is not evidence. Ask whether the person has the knowledge needed for the specific question.
Read beyond a quote
Check the full verse or hadith, translation, and context. A quotation can be authentic yet misleading when separated from the passage or issue it addresses.
For Quranic interpretation, consult recognized tafsir. For hadith, check a reputable source and its grading rather than relying on a social media image.
Notice humility and disagreement
Scholars may disagree on interpretation or application. Trustworthy resources explain meaningful differences rather than pretending every matter has one uncontested answer.
If an answer affects safety, health, or legal rights, seek appropriate qualified support in addition to religious counsel.
