Hajj is the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, obligatory once in a lifetime for those physically and financially able. It takes place during specific days of Dhul Hijjah (12th Islamic month) and includes rituals like circumambulating the Ka'ba (Tawaf), walking between Safa and Marwa hills, standing at Arafat, and stoning the pillars representing Satan. Umrah is a 'lesser pilgrimage' that can be performed any time of year, consisting of Tawaf and Sa'i (walking between Safa and Marwa). Hajj erases all previous sins when performed sincerely.
