Is it better to work for myself or for others?

Both paths have merit in Islam. The Prophet (ﷺ) was both an employee (shepherd) and entrepreneur (trader). Consider your temperament, risk tolerance, family situation, and where you can contribute most. Working for others offers stability; entrepreneurship offers freedom. Either can fulfill your purpose.
