Why is the Quran in Arabic?

Existing Quran Wisdom answer. No named author or scholarly review is recorded here. Check references and seek qualified advice for a personal ruling.

Allah revealed the Quran in Arabic because Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent to the Arab people, and Arabic was the most eloquent language of the time. The Quran states: 'Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran that you might understand' (12:2). Arabic's unique linguistic structure allows for precise meanings that cannot be fully captured in translation. However, the message of the Quran is universal for all humanity, and Muslims worldwide learn Arabic to connect with Allah's direct words, while translations help non-Arabic speakers understand its meaning.
